The spiritual successor of Doom by the philosophy of the game and without much thought is certainly Serious Sam. Believe it or not, this gaming series (a total of four sequels) has been running on our computers for 20 years, and I would say very successful. Serious Sam itself is a product of Croteam, a small team of talented developers from Croatia (EU).
As I said, the formula is simple. Take up arms, and kill anything that moves on the screen. Hordes of various aliens are constantly attacking you, against which stands only your heavily armed hero, Sam.
2020 Serious Sam 4 wasn’t a disappointment, but neither was it a big step forward in the already outlined concept. For this year, on January 25, Croteam announced a spin-off called Siberian Mayhem.
The development team promised to bring a touch of freshness to the new title. The gaming environment will be broader and more unpredictable, so much research and shooting will be waiting for you. There are five levels through which you will test your reflexes with many new weapons. Of the exciting weapons, there is the experimental crossbow Perun and the famous conventional AK-47 (logical because the action takes place in Russia).
Croteam will distribute its new game through the publisher DevolverDigital, and you can watch shorter gameplay here or on their Youtube channel. At first glance, the game is promising, so I will try it as soon as it appears and share the gaming experience with you.
